Sean Berry was born and raised in the wonderfully eclectic music town of Athens, Georgia. Blessed to have parents who are professional recording artists, Sean began playing guitar and singing at an early age. His first band, The Berry Brothers, rocked Jr. High school dances and special events. It wasn't long before he moved on to play larger stages and venues in the Athens area. In 2013 Sean had the opportunity to move to Nashville, TN. It was in Nashville that he began to hone in on his skills as a songwriter, performing weekly at a songwriting venue called The Row.
While opening a show in Longview, TX in 2015, he met an incredible family who talked highly of their daughter and swore to Sean they were soul mates. Before the night ended, they swapped phone numbers and a few weeks later Sean was flying to Texas to meet their daughter. His love for this born and bred Texas young lady would soon cause him to pack up all his things and start a new life in East Texas. Now married to his Texas sweetheart, Sean and Kayla call East Texas their home.
Moving to Texas ignited even more Sean’s passion for writing and performing music. He fell in love with the rawness and authenticity of Texas Country Music and it is influencing his writing and performance today. His new music has its own sound and unique flare. You can hear his musical influences like Merle Haggard, Chris Stapleton and Jason Isbell in the simplicity and uniqueness of his lyrics, but his bluesy, big vocal style is definitely defined by the voice he grew up listening to, John Berry.
When playing live, Sean performs his original music, mixed in with old and new cover songs. He enjoys a good time and loves to engage his audience to make it a fun night for everybody in the room.
